    Hi,

I submitted a ticket for this a few weeks ago, and as suggested, resubmitted the site map, and also requested indexing again. The Google Search is still not showing the title set in Yoast. Here is a video showing this issue:

The website uses the same theme and plugins as many other sites we manage that do not have this issue (Beaver Builder Child theme). We were using Monster Insights for Google Analytics. I just changed that to Google Site Kit to see if that might help?
Active Plugins: Beaver Builder, Beaver Themer, Beaver Team Pro, Better Search Replace, Cookie Yes, ManageWP, Gravity Forms, Pods, Pods Beaver Themer Add On, Popup Maker, Reidrection, Site Kit, Smash Ballon Instagram Feed, SVG Support, Ultimate Add Ons for Beaver Builder, User Switching, WP Help and Yoast.

Any other suggestions for what might be causing this issue?

    Hello @taraclaeys,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your site’s search appearance. I confirmed the SEO title you have entered in the Yoast SEO plugin is shown in the page source but not in the search results:

    <title>About | Friends Meeting School</title>

As such, the issue isn’t with our plugin but with Google. Google is the one who decides what your title and meta description say. While Google typically uses the title and meta description from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. The title and meta description you enter in our snippet preview are?suggestions for Google. Google’s goal is to represent best and describe each result.

I recommend posting a question in the?Google Search Central Help Community?for further assistance.

By the way, you didn’t need to submit the page-sitemap separately in Google Search Console. It’s already included in the /sitemap_index.xml/.
