Hello – I recently added Elementor to my site and redesigned it and all of my previously green dot posts changed to orange. I understand the green dot isn’t the be all end all ?? I have two concerns though…

    1. Yoast is now viewing all of the images on a page that are inserted via shortcode (ie: images in the sidebar) and stating that only a fraction of the images have alt titles that reflect the topic of my text (because the ones in the sidebar are unrelated to the post content of course). Is this how search engines will also view the images? Or is this something I don’t need to be concerned with?

    2. The other issue is that many of my posts’ SEO titles and meta descriptions are now considered too long by Yoast when they were within the recommended length before. Did the recommended length change or something? Will this impact how my posts are ranked by search engines?

Thank you for your help! (PS – I love Yoast… total game-changer.)

Oops sorry – this post is a better example of the issues:

    Hi @larissaswayze,

We would expect that changing the page content or the editor might also change how Yoast SEO scans your pages. We understand that seeing a change to your SEO scores is frustrating, but we have some recommendations below:

    1. We see that images like the “Click A Tree” graphic doesn’t have alt text, so search engines and other devices will have no way to understand what the image is about.

Optimizing image is something to be concerned about as you’re optimizing your pages, so we have more details in this guide: Image SEO: How to optimize your alt text and title text.

    2. We’re not aware of any changes to the recommendations for titles and descriptions in the latest update. If you’re not sure if you need to make a change, you can check the search results for your pages to see if you need to make any adjustments.
