GoDaddy automatically updated the plugin on my site after the news of the security vulnerability became public. Since then, the SEO functionality (page titles, keywords, metadescription etc.) has been removed from my posts. I checked the plugin and it is still enabled. Is this a bug or did the update turn off a setting that I need to enable again?

Check the Screen Options pull down tab on the screen where it’s missing, it may have got unchecked there.

    .

    Same here.

Uploading the old plugin fixed it.
But it breaks after allowing the update, again.

Until putting the old version of the ‘aioseop_class.php’ file.

Which is fine, as the plugin is still a recent version.
But not if the ‘aioseop_class.php’ file is the one with the XSS vulnerability!

    Hi gg82,

Make sure that your settings are correct under Custom Post Type Settings, specifically if you have SEO for Custom Post Types enabled, make sure you have each post type checked that you want to use on your site under “SEO on only these post types”.

Fantastic Peter, you are a star.

Been back and forth trying to get update not to make settings disappear.
    Whilst worrying about XSS vulnerability!

Never occurred to me that the update would have changed the settings.

    Thanks again.

Glad it worked for you! Note that the XSS vulnerability was only an issue for admin users with the File module enabled, which I imagine is a pretty small subset of users, as that module is disabled by default.

Thanks Peter. I appreciate the prompt response. That worked!

With so many WordPress sites being hacked, even whilst updating perfectly, we are easy to scare! ??

    Thanks again.
