• Hi we love your plugin, this is the first issue we have every had with it.

For some reason, on entering meta data on a WordPress page (title, description, keywords) the data does not save on hitting the update button. When the page reloads the meta data fields are all empty again.

It does work ok if I use the quick edit on the page list.

On latest WP & all in one seo pack. Using Goodlayers Flawless theme.

    Thanks, s

    Hi kumoink,

There have been many reports similar to yours and they all turn out to be either conflict with another plugin or the active theme. I’d recommend starting by deactivating all other plugins, especially plugins that do anything with TinyMCE as that’s usually the issue. You can also check the browser error console to see if there are any AJAX or JavaScript errors being reported as this will help determine what’s causing this issue.

thanks, just realised it works on some pages but not others.

nothing relevant showing on the error console. So something must not be right with another plugin/theme.

edit to add: it is indeed the theme. If we use the theme’s page build all in one seo breaks. If the page builder is empty, it works. At least I know what is causing it now… on to the theme developer I guess!

    Thanks again, s

    Hi kumoink,

I’m glad you found the cause of the issue. We’re seeing a trend by theme developers to using page builders which significantly increase the complexity of the edit page screen and cause conflicts and errors with the built-in TinyMCE functionality in WordPress.

All in One SEO worked fine with our current theme. Only after updating WP to 3.9.1 did this problem start happening.

Also, is there a list of plugins that cause this issue?

    HI thenewbreed,

WordPress 3.9.1 fixed some bugs with TinyMCE so that might have caused your issue if you have any plugins or your theme is adding it’s own TinyMCE code.

    Hi,

Thanks. Where would I look in the theme to correct this? It is a custom theme based off of Twenty_Eleven template.

We also have a custom Meta box (https://www.deluxeblogtips.com/meta-box) that also displays as blank after this update. I suspect it may be related to this issue. And I sincerely hope that it has not caused us to lose all our info. ??

    HI thenewbreed,

I am sorry I cannot help you with a custom theme. I would suggest you contact the person who developed the theme for you. The developer could have included TinyMCE any where.
