• I have just installed SEO Friendly Images on some of my blogs.

I used the default settings, apart from additionally checking the box to override WP Alt Tags.

But, the result is that on any given post all images have exactly the same tag appearing when the mouse is hovered over the image.

Now to me that isn’t a problem, because all images on a post do relate to the post title. My question is does it do any harm for SEO purposes if Google ‘sees’ several images all with the same alt tag?

An example of what I’m talking about is here-

The same alt tags appear on every image.

I see that it is a single post that you are referring to so if there are more images other than a single image in a single post then I think the plugin is configured to repeat the title tag. However, I do not see any harm seo-wise due to all images being in a single post. However, In the SFI settings, try inserting different inputs in the “Title attribute box” eg. %name %category, %tag %name, etc. and see if it works.

If you are using repeating same image titles for different posts then probably you can worry about seo.

The alt tags are different for each page, according to the page title, so that isn’t a problem.
