    Hi!

    I cannot say exactly, but i will try to tell you the ideas: It does not convert PDF’s to images, instead it uses PDFJS library. This library opens a PDF and render PDF pages to canvas in real time. So the search engines can get link to a PDF file itself and this should be enough for them to let users find the PDF file. But the PDF pages text does not appear on html page, where the plugin is placed so the search engine is not able to get it.

    I thought a little about extracting PDF content and placing it somewhere hidden on page but this is just my thoughts…
