    Hello SEO experts,

I am new to WordPress and I am currently considering SEO plugins for my future website. I am not sure if this is the right place to raise my question but I was not able to find any presale contact on your website to sort this out. I came across this review comparing Yoast, All in One, and the SEO Framework plugins. Here it says that the SEO Framework plugin does not provide the following functionalities (neither in free nor in the premium version):

    – Category & Tag SEO
    – File editor
    – AMP (Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages)

Would you mind confirming the veracity of this information? In case the information on this review is indeed correct, I would still like to consider using the SEO Framework. However, I am new to WordPress and I do not have any SEO knowledge, so I would appreciate it if you could provide me with some insights about the relevance of these specific features that may be “missing” in the SEO Framework and how I can eventually fill these potential gaps (manually or with other plugins).

    Thank you in advance!

    Best,
    Vania

    Hi Vania,

The review is incorrect about a couple of points (and also a bit outdated, being from 2019). The table at the end is wrong.

TSF was the first to add term (Category & Tag) SEO support; it didn’t add “global” SEO toggles for all registered taxonomies like Yoast SEO did, but in 2020 I added all you required, and in 2021 I perfected it with post type archive support.

I don’t know why you’d want to use AMP (it does not help for SEO). But, we have an extension for that since 2017: https://tsf.fyi/e/amp.

I also do not know why you’d want to use a file editor. Please use proper tools if you wish to touch your server’s files (VSCode, a text or code editor, etc.). File editors that edit themselves (editing your WordPress site via WordPress…) are disasters disguised as features.

What the review should’ve mentioned is that TSF is at least 150x faster than AIOSEO, and at least 25x faster than Yoast SEO. The trick is that I never added stuff you didn’t need — it’s a plugin to benefit you, instead of benefiting the authors.

If you’re new to SEO: Just install The SEO Framework and don’t touch any setting — it will do everything for you well out of the box. If you wish to tinker a little, I recommend reading the setup guide first (https://tsf.fyi/docs/setup), and bookmark Google’s SEO Starter Guide.

SEO is one of the last parts you need to get right. You should create a website someone wants to visit before inviting them over.

    ?Hi ?Sybre,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

Yeah, I know that SEO should be one of my last concerns, but I am currently doing some research to develop my website strategy so I want to have everything covered before I actually start doing anything.

I appreciate your clarification regarding the TSF features. Concerning the features I mentioned, to be honest I am not even sure if I would need them (I am also new to the website development arena in general, not just WordPress or SEO). I was just trying to compare the features of the 3 plugins to decide if these would be things I would really need or which should actually be avoided in an SEO plugin. I will dive deep into this SEO subject but your feedback was already very helpful in this regard!

As for TSF being faster, yes, I read some really good reviews about the TSF plugin highlighting not only the speed but also the fact of using white-hat guidelines and rules (which for me is something mandatory), and this is why I am considering it as my first option in terms of SEO plugins. I referred to that review in particular just because it provides a comparison between the features of the different plugins. But apparently, the content of this review should not be taken at face value.

Anyway, I will start with the free version of the TSF and upgrade to premium later on.

    Best,
    Vania
