    Hi,

When I click the button to optimize SEO data it never stops. I need to reload the page to get it to stop. Even after 20 minutes. I am running it on a small site so that can hardly be the reason for it going on for suchs a long time I feel the need to reload the page.

Is this something anyone has come accross before? What might be the reason? Will forcefully stopping it by reloading the page not optimize the SEO data?

    Hello @martin1,

I’m sorry you couldn’t complete the SEO data optimization. Please try the steps below:

    1. Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.

    Hello @maybellyne ,

Before I do that I just want to make sure this doesn’t affect the titles and meta descriptions I filled in under each page and post? I can’t afford to loose those.

    Thanks ??

    Hi @martin1

We understand if you were hesitant to reset the optimized data.

We can assure you that your hard work will not be lost as the default WordPress tables also contain the SEO data. This process will only reset the custom Yoast tables with the combined data pulled from those default tables.

However, we recommend creating regular backups of your site and database for your site’s health and safety. Backups are especially important before making substantial changes to your website. It provides you with a safety net if something were to go wrong. Learn more about?the benefits of regular backups.

Let us know what you see after resetting the optimized data.
