    Hello,

this was done in the staging area, so I have no real issue that needs to be solved, but I do wonder what could cause the SEO Bar problem.

    Here are the screenshots.

So, I installed WP Sweep and cleaned my database (Sweep All). Everything seemed to work OK, except for the SEO Bar, which had red colored squares with exclamation marks in them.

I restored the site and then installed WP Optimize. After cleaning everything, again, the site worked OK, but the red colored squares with exclamation marks were present again.

No need to dive deep into this, but knowing why (if you happen to know) this happens would be useful. I didn’t test each sweeping option one by one, so I don’t know which option caused this, but I could do more extensive testing, if you’d want me to.

    Thank you.

Guys, please consider this ticket closed and waste no time on it. ?? The exclamation marks are present on a staging site even if I don’t do any DB optimizations first! I need some sleep. Hopefully it will help.

    Hello!

If you hover over the SEO Bar items, it’ll tell you what’s going on ??

The exclamation marks are shown like that whenever WordPress blocks search engines via the WordPress Reading Settings. The option is called “Discourage search engines from indexing this site.” Disable that option, and the marks will go away.

I added the warnings to the v4.0 update because I noticed some users had that option activated unintentionally, and it negates all SEO. Now, because you’re dealing with a staging area, I think you can safely ignore the warnings.

Thank you, Sybre, I appreciate you taking the time for explaining this.
