SEO and wikipedia paste

    Is it good/bad to paste an article excerpt (1 page long) from wikipedia when it comes to SEO…
    Any penalties from google and SE regarding this “original content” thing?

    Also how original is “original” ? Do slight modifications enough to become a new original content?

  • As Wikipedia themselves says that its not their copyright property so you can use it but Google will definitely not appreciate it and can crawl as duplicate content. You can use information from Wikipedia to write an article but I wouldn’t recommend copying it with little modifications.
