• Hello everyone,

I have a well-indexed blog running under WordPress and I recently made a change, only to realize that it caused hundreds of “not found” results in Google Webmaster tools.

I changed the number of posts per page from 5 to 10 under the Reading settings. This changed things for category pages. As a result, my blog had fewer pages for each category, and Google was unable to find results for them on the site.

I reverted to 5 posts per page, while telling Webmaster Tools that the problem was fixed. Until I find a solution.

I wonder what is the best practice to handle this. Basically, I don’t want readers to have to click on “previous posts” again and again if they are looking for something specific. Offering them more posts per page sounds logical. Yet, I don’t want Google to penalize my blog.

Do you have a suggestion to make?
