SEO and Google Indexing

This refers to the wordpress site solon ohio dot us with atahualpa wordpress theme.

Until yesterday, this site allowed indexing by tag. This has now been disabled through yoast wordpress seo plugin. Indexing with category has been disabled since the initial publication of the site.

Google has stopped indexing some of the recent posts. Site has been submitted to google through webmaster tools. A query through site:siteurl gives undesirable result.

robots.txt file appears to be okay.

What else can be done to encourage google to index posts? Please help.
