SEO and back links

What are the best SEO plug in’s for word press and back links is there a better way to collect them?

The best way to get backlinks is to write good posts people link to. Can’t beat it for SEO.
As for plugins, people seem to like Yoast’s SEO plugin and All In One. I don’t use any, though.
NO offense but just writing good post is great when your traffic is rated in the hundreds of thousands, then sure you might get 3 or 4 people who might write a comment and out of fifty posts you might get 1 link real. NO doubt you can get thousand of useless spam links which aren’t good to anyone.
But what if your traffic rating isn’t in the hundreds of thousands? What then? People have to find you before they can reply to your post…if they will reply. So such comments are pointless..
As for SEO plug in all In one, I used that as well but not because it is the best but because it is a plug in…I couldn’t tell you if it worked or not…
The most popular “white” SEO method is buying blog posts. You get traffic from referring sites and context links are best for your website SERP position.

No. Writing good posts is the ONLY way you can get yourself HONEST backlink traffic. (Akismet, Cookies for Comments and Bad Behavior keep the spam links out, BTW).
1) Write good posts
2) Find related sites and contact them, saying ‘Hey, I too write about fish who walk on land. Can you link to my site?’
3) Ask people to review your posts (depends on WHAT you write)An SEO plugin will NOT help as much as you think. All it does is optimize what you have, but if the material isn’t good, they help not at all. You have to get out there and advertise. Link where it’s permitted, DON’T spam and DON’T waste money buying backlinks from those idiots who say ‘We can get you linked in 1000s of sites in a day!’
SEO is not a magic bullet that you apply and it makes people come to your site. It can help them FIND it, but it’s on YOU to make them stay and link.
Ipstenu gives some good advice. The only way to build a healthy, sustainable website is through consistent hard work. You need to be constantly creating quality unique content and marketing it. There are no magic bullet shortcuts that will keep you at the top of the rankings for a long time.
I don’t use SEO plugins at all on my site and it does fairly decent, like the 2 comments above, I keep writing consistent material to keep content fresh and increase the size of the site (content is king),
Keep improving the website so it is easier to navigate, loads faster, etc.
Overall it is better for your site in the long run generating organic growth and backlinks for your site, which is usually achieved by lots of unique content.
Obviously content is necessary for any website. But not all kinds of content generates back links nor does it warrant comment. In my personal experience none of the back links I currently have just happened from content. I spent hours writing responses to other peoples posts and signing endless forms to get those back links. Your advice, is as if you have no clue, as to what your talking about.
This notion, “If you will build it they will come,” is speaking to the sensational content. Like goofy lip sinking and other flash in the pan..Or highly controversial stuff that was written to get a raise out of any fool willing to read it.
Does that mean my posts lack quality? According to this consortium of foolishness it must…. My post are just as good and a great many, I would say are far superior to anything out on the web today. So I understand quality.
The notion that people will be marveled at the stunning quality of your post is rather naive. I find that people expect quality content as a prerequisite to viewing your site in the first place. Whether or not they leave a comment depends on if your article provokes a response.
As for building links organically, wake up….it takes years. I block thousands of spam bots every day that would leave hundreds of comments on my posts.. None of them would have a quality back link on them…
Perhaps you guys should let someone answer, what knows something about SEO and back link building ..rather than leaving these freshman remarks.Sorry I mistook you for a person rather than a troll, anyone who has suggested anything to you and you instantly jump down their throat.
Why not trying being civil to people who have took the time to answer you (whether helpful or not) instead of being an insulting ba’ bag about it.
(1) I’m not saying the quality of your content is rubbish, I am merely saying that you should have a lot of quality content (there is a difference)
(2) I’m suggesting focusing on improving your site for visitors, so when they do come, they’ll return again because they had a pleasant experience on your site.
(3) Since you know about SEO from your replies, why bother asking, do you really expect me to list all the factors on getting decent backlinks, which you probably already know, as others do with SEO.
Lastly, FYI, one of my websites that only use organic growth for traffic generation and backlinks, took a year to get decent traffic, but won an award from Nominet Trust as part of the BetterNet Awards, and was recently mentioned in parliament, not bad for a freshman ??

You’re not listening. That, spending hours working, THAT is how you do it ?? Thats’ what we said.
1) Write good content
2) Get out there and promote yourselfWe’re saying DO NOT do it automated. No SEO app in the world, no plugin, no get rich quick scheme, can ever work. Don’t bother.
This notion, “If you will build it they will come,” is speaking to the sensational content.
Hardly. If you build it GOOD, they will STAY is my notion.
I know exactly what your saying and it is obvious you are out of your depth so walk on……….

You might have opened with that 2 posts ago and then went into detail..
It means nothing unless you explain yourself. As for:1) Write good content
2) Get out there and promote yourselfSorry, that advice makes you “captain obvious.” Think about it.
You really don’t know much about SEO if you claim it is not important.. Next thing you should also know is I run a very successful site.
“Build it good” doesn’t mean success. I have seen many well built sites that get no traffic.
As for mentalist3d look kid the question was about SEO plug ins if you don’t know anything about SEO then you don’t need to speak because your not helpful so stop wasting my time.
I came here in the hope to meet someone who has a degree in computer science. Has been working with web design since the very beginning. Which means, if you are not already a minimum of 15 years in, Then I don’t want to here from you. I want to talk in detail about back links and SEO The only reply that came close to getting it right was wesleysong Thank you for your input. I’ll look into it.
I don’t need someone to tell me about hard work.. That not what I asked for in the first place. And another thing it isn’t easy just to randomly contact some websites and say hey don’t you want to review my site.. You would have to find the right fit. Working with other web admins isn’t as easy as all that.. So good luck.

I think you need to start a new thread because you aren’t doing yourself any favours in your replies which will give people less reluctance to help you.
If you know it all and we are just wasting your time, why post here in the first place?
By the way, you’ve wasted my time as much as I’ve wasted your time, you’ve also wasted the time of others that have took the time to answer you.

Um – that would be me then. And I suggest you listen to whatever Ipstenu says very, very, carefully.

You mean you don’t want to HEAR from us (if you’re going to be mean to people, I’m going to nitpick your spelling and grammar). You want my credentials? Okay, my first program was written on an IBM 3270. I’ll leave the rest of my skill set to your Google ability.
I’m not out of my depth, Captain Obtuse, but clearly you don’t want to listen to what I’m saying, so have fun wasting your money and time on useless things. I’ve worked with people like you before. I still have a job, they don’t.
ETA:
And another thing it isn’t easy just to randomly contact some websites and say hey don’t you want to review my site.
Seriously? Are you complaining that it’s hard work to do all this? That work is HARD?
Of course it is! Anyone who says otherwise is scamming you.
As was already said, your basic building block is going to be good content. Build your site, and put good content on it. Be an expert in your field, and show your expertise through your content. Plugins can help improve SEO a little, but generally speaking, WordPress comes with pretty good SEO out of the box.
You want backlinks? Become part of a community. Find other sites that write about your area of expertise. Write meaningful comments. Invite a popular guest-blogger to write a post for your site. Offer to guest-blog on another site. If there is a Meetup group, business association, club, or other group in your area related to your topic of interest, participate. Do presentations. Speak at conferences. PARTICIPATE. Make yourself visible.
There is no magic SEO bullet. There are a zillion websites where you can read about SEO tips and tricks. None of it will matter if you don’t have something worth offering. And again, WordPress gives you decent SEO from the start. You have the tools in your hands already.
