SEO Alt images delete

They’re from reviewer’s avatars. It may be that avatar images are an exception to the rule that all images should have alt text. Someone more knowledgeable about accessibility issues should confirm.

If you want to add alt text anyway, the “get_avatar” filter could be used. Search for alt="" in the passed HTML and replace it with something like alt="reviewer's avatar image".

Thanks bcworkz for your information. I wonder how to use the get avatar filter. Is it a plugin? Also, I don’t have html file on my server, where can I find it?

I really don’t know what this image exactly to add alt text for. Why some products pages have something like this https://www.w3.org/2000/svg I added all alt text on each gallery images and the seo audit shows me always that still images like avatar and images from this url https://www.w3.org/2000/svg haven’t alt text. I can’t find these images on the product page. Any suggestions?

Have a look in your backend under Settings > Discussion to see if the checkbox in front of “Show Avatars” is checked. If so, remove it. This should prevent any avatars (which are pulled from gravatar.com) from being displayed.

If they are, then this is due to a plugin you are using. Plugins for discussions or member plugins would be possible here.

Incidentally, I can’t see anything like this when I visit your site either. You can only see something like this if you are logged in to your store (which I am not). This means that the tool you used to perform the audit should only see it if you are logged in.

The avatar image with no alt text appears under the reviews tab of product pages. They do not exist on all product pages because not all products have reviews.

WooCommerce uses the WP comment system for reviews, so any comment settings should apply to reviews, however it’s conceivable WooCommerce could override or ignore certain settings.

This does require some custom PHP coding. Custom code should be stored in your own simple plugin. Code added to existing themes or plugins will be lost when that theme or plugin is updated.

Suppressing avatars in comment settings like threadi suggests would be a lot easier ?? , assuming Woocommerce honors that setting in its reviews.
