    Hi @mattyrob,

    This blogger has recently stopped receiving his own blog posts… as has his wife. It appears they are both using Gmail. Another mail account (same as the domain the blog originates from) is also NOT receiving the email posts. This has been the last couple of posts’ email. Also, they usually get at least 6-10 Out Of Office responses (especially now) — the last 2 posts have had zero.

    They are worried their recipients aren’t getting these new post emails either… since there is no alert or warning/bounce-backs involved (it seems?), they have no way of knowing, do they?

    What other info do you need from me to help them troubleshoot this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Steve C.

    @mattyrob OK, will do — that was my first inclination. That was the cause of that Internal Server Error page? Or no?
    What can/should they use for the sign-up form then? I didn’t see that as a part of S2, but maybe I didn’t look thoroughly enough?
    Thanks for the feedback!

    The error looks like it might be a conflict.

    The built in Widget may need enabling at Subscribe2 > Settings under the Appearance tab. Then it’ll need placing in the WordPress widget page.

    Roger that! It’s now gone from the Plugins, and I will have the clients retest. They turned that ancient beast back on without my knowledge, so it was a shock to me that it was back in Active use. ??
    Thanks for the assist! Will let you know how it goes.

    @mattyrob we are about to retry Sending the previous Post. In the Mail Queue (Premium) settings, there is the following Status:

    The mail queue was last processed at: June 4, 2020 @ 11:42 am
    The mail queue will next process at: June 4, 2020 @ 11:51 am

    This seems inline with the mailing only sending to a few (the ‘first’ 60 in the queue?)…. any way we can figure out what addresses received that first effort before the 9 year old Widget plugin (my client reactivated without my consent!) had a conflict with S2, and caused a process-halting Internal Server Error? Or is that random addresses on the list? We can confirm it wasn’t based on alphabetical order… Let me know what you think.

    Thanks!

    Steve

    @3cstudio

    For per-post notifications the emails are sent in the following order:

    1/ Registered users with a plain text excerpt subscription setting
    2/ Registered users with a plain text full content subscription setting
    3/ Registered users with an HTML excerpt subscription setting
    4/ Registered users with an HTML full content subscription setting
    5/ Public Subscribers

    The order within each of these groups is based on the order in the database tables.

    I’m more worried about this”
    The mail queue will next process at: June 4, 2020 @ 11:51 am

    The queue should have been processed today, is the cron working on the site?

    @mattyrob

    That 11:51 timestamp was the next 10 minute increment, at which point I thought the process got halted by the plugin conflict? I have it set to 60 email every 10 minutes but will drop it to 35 (to stay under 400/hr.). Are you saying it “should” have resumed the queue in spite of the ancient Widget plugin conflict?

    Should I also Purge before allowing a new attempt to go out? To start with a clean queue (if anything is still lingering from the conflict based post)?

    I installed WP-Cron Status Checker but it doesn’t have an immediate option to run it — only the option for Daily or Weekly checks.

    @3cstudio

    The Mail Queue process should still have run at 10 minute intervals even if there was nothing to do.

    I prefer this plugin for prompting Cron jobs:

    OK, I downloaded WP Crontrol, and Ran Cron for: “subscribe2_tracker_send_event”, which showed it had previously run 3 days and 3 hrs prior (?)…. not 10 minute intervals as you’d suggested.

    It shows that cron happened, but now the Next Run scheduled cron is:
    1969-12-31 19:00:01
    50 years 5 months ago
    …. must be because the Recurrence is set to “Non-repeating”?

    Do you know what Hooks need to be in place, and what their schedule should be if I were to track cron for S2 related elements?

    @mattyrob I think I need specifics from you as to how to best send out a (first) successful Post Resend without it failing yet again… would you be willing to look things over and see if you can spot something still amiss? I’d like for the client to not experience yet another hiccup in this (now) month-long effort to get back to sending out their new post notifications — doesn’t feel like things are there just yet! Thoughts?

    @3cstudio

    Something is amiss by the sounds of it, the WPMQ cron event is called wpmq_cron. I have no idea what “subscribe2_tracker_send_event” is unless it’s something added by the recent new owners of the free version of Subscribe2.

    I can take a look if you contact me via the WPMQ support channels.

    Will do!

    @mattyrob I’m not finding the support options in WPMQ… neither at Freemium (purchase account) nor in wp-admin in the info regarding WPMQ (or on the Plugins page as it suggests on S2 help section)… ?

    In Plugins, I have: WordPress Mail Queue (Premium)
    but the options under that to click are:
    Upgrade | Change License | Deactivate

    @3cstudio

    I’ve found your details and emailed you.
