Excited to see this new plugin, thank you.

I don’t really know how setting up WP email works, but what I’m trying to do is have a single point of wordpress user registration that includes the default wordpress user for comments, buddypress and bbpress users, all one sign-up, and I want to have Sendy as the default email service / autoresponder sequence for these signups.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to make Sendy handle default WP emails and completely lost without tutorias.

Is this something Total Support Widget would do?

    Thanks

Thanks for the question and reception! So this plugin won’t do what you are wanting to do. The reason being is that Sendy is really for email marketing and not traditional emails dealing with anything like registration. This widget will help you signup new emails for your newsletter, but it won’t address anything beyond that.

Sendy is specifically for creating newsletters and emailing them through Amazon SES. Amazon SES & SNS are really good but I haven’t gone beyond the Sendy setup. For registration I use Super Socializer to allow social signup and includes regular WP registration too. That’s not what you want either though.

You need a different plugin to handle all your internal emails. You can use Amazon SES to send those out, you just need to set up the reply SMTP. I just don’t have a plugin in mind that would give you what you are looking for.

Hi – thanks for the detailed follow-up

slowly and unsurely wrapping my head around emails

I’ve now got WP-SES plugin working to route wordpress transactional emails through AWS SES (amazon). They recently updated the plugin and it works well.

Now trying to figure out how to combine WP/BBpress/BP registrations into a single front-end profile and then drop those new users into an autoresponder sequence.

I guess if it were easy there wouldn’t be any profit in it.

Looks like you did me the favor! I haven’t seen that plugin before. I have a feeling that I will be installing it and configuring it this weekend though for my sites. You have a difficult build in front of you but if done right you should have a very nice working site. I have been learning AWS for the past 6 months only. It’s an amazing system so I want to do more with it.

Let me know how your system comes together. I always try to share the plugins I use. I list all of mine here on my site.
