• Is very difficult to just turn on SSL forwarding. It asks tricky questions to enable notifications, and even when you think you’ve turned it off, it still sends you spam emails from your own website.

    Hi @bronskiy,

I am sorry to read about your experiences. It is our intention to keep things as simple as possible (what’s in a name). After installing the plugin, you’ll get the onboarding pop-up, with the most prominent button being ‘activate SSL’. You could then cancel the further onboarding if you are not interested in any other functionality. We have developed the plugin with a very modular approach, so no redundant processes will burden your site.

Under settings -> General you can ‘disable all notifications’ to dismiss +1s and Dashboard notifications. If you enabled email notifications, you can disable those as well via General settings (enable email notifications -> disable).

The emails that you are referring to as spam are emails that are intended to provide essential information about features that you enabled within the plugin. They are not sent if you don’t enable email notifications + enable the features that they refer to.

I hope that the above sheds some light on the design choices we made. If your experiences are different, please do let us know. We have no intention to spam Really Simple Security users. We only aim to create the simplest experience!

    Kind regards,
    Leon
