Sending trackback and ping to technorati not working

    I’ve notice, since I updated from WordPress 1.5 to WordPress 2.0 sending trackback to another blog doesn’t work anymore (when I write a post and anter the URI in the “trackback” field).

    Also when I publish a new post, it doesn’t ping to Technorati anymore. And “https://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping” is properly entered in Options / Writing / Update Services.

    Even a manual Ping doesn’t seem to work (Ping / Update Ping)

    I don’t know if the trackback and the technorati ping problems are linked together, but does anybody have any idea why it is not working for me ?

  • I just upgraded to 2.01 and it is still not working… Any thoughts?

    Actually, it’s working for WordPress blogs now, so maybe Haloscan’s a problem… 2.01 seems to help!

    Hmm… I am having the problem with Technorati not picking up my posts anymore also. Searched on google and found this thread. Did anyone ever figure out what to do to get WP to ping technorati again? I am running a WP 1.5x blog and some 2.0 blogs.

    One strange thing. When I post it never gets to the post has been made screen.

    It asks if I want to save post.php I click yes and open it and it is blank.

    My wp ping seems not working. How do we fix it?

    This is happening to me also. I have several blogs and this happens to the ones I upgraded and added Bunny Tags to. I used to think there was something fishy about Bunnny Tags which I installed the same day, but once you take all the bunny tag stuff out, nada.

    The day I installed Bunny Tags is the same day Technorati stopped reading my pings. I can’t remember if I also upgraded the sites to 2.0.2 the same day however.

    It is NOT my server because the other WP blogs (all on a shared server) still ping to Technorati fine.

    I might also note, I just upgraded IfThisBeTreason.com to 2.0.3 to try to reawaken Technorati to no avail. But now my dates are screwed up.

    I found out my blog is actually pinging. If I publish a new post and go right to pingomatic.com and reping, it tells to slow down – it has just received a ping.

    So are we just sending stuff to Technorati polluted?

    Same problem, trackbacks work but pinging doesn’t.

    same issue, but it seems like just technorati, using wp 2.0.3.

    it used to work until about 36 days ago..

    my other wp blog is pinging fine, from the same host…

    apparently the wp devs don’t care if this issue has been up 3 months with no real acknowledgement or solutions.

    So anybody found the solution to this problem, i hate not having my trackback read on technorati tags ?? it’s just sad.

    I, too, use Bunny’s tags in case that could be an issue. But goodness I use so many plugins. My issue isn’t trackbacks cause I really don’t use that but my issue is the lack of ping. I want some ping and I get no ping.

    Auto-ping or manual. I’d love a solution too and have resorted to asking for help from my blog. I will not rest until I have this resolved so feel free to check this entry where there WILL be a solution forthcoming.

    Technorati’s Eating my Shorts

    This is broken for me also. I have a friend at Technorati so I am going to try to ask him what’s the deal. I’ll post if I find something.

    Technorati is having some serious issues. Comes up about once a day over in WP.com land. Only way we can get issues resolved is waiting a couple days after first sending in a support ticket and then copying back the autoresponse and asking if there’s any follow up.

    Only way I’ve even been able to get a response out of them.
