I have important information that I need to email customers based on the product they purchase. Like the instruction manual for the product. This is completely necessary info with no marketing component, and it needs to be sent whether the customer opts-in to marketing emails or not.

My understanding is that this is not possible with MailPoet, because no emails can be sent without the customer opting-in at checkout and I cannot rely on them opting in. Can someone confirm this is correct and there is no way around this? If so that is a real bummer, just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

    Hi @marshallsites,

Thanks for sharing what you’d like to do with the plugin.

As I understand, this would be a transactional email that would be sent to your customers, regardless of their status as a subscriber in the MailPoet list.

You could use the advanced options for Automation to create an email to be sent as a transactional emails to all users once their status order changes to complete. This is part of our Premium features, so you’d need a paid subscription, but it’s possible.

    For reference: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/397-how-to-set-up-an-automation#order-status-change

Is this the feature you’re looking for?

Yes, thank you @bruberries . I had not come across that feature.

What I’d really like to do is have the product info email sent a couple days after the purchase, so the customer isn’t overwhelmed with emails from me immediately after purchase, and is more likely to notice & read the product info. I may try to write a custom plugin for this.

    Hi @marshallsites,

I say you should give it a try if you have a paid subscription. You may also want to try AutomateWoo for specific product transactional emails. I allow you to send follow-up emails according to different criteria, and it doesn’t require consent.

    I hope it helps!
