  • I just set mine up this morning.

After you set all the settings under Options->Writing, you need to go to https://<yourblogaddress>/wp-mail.php and that will run the POP client to suck your email in.

thanks so much! do i need to run this everytime i email a post? or once ive gone there will the posts show every time from now on?

As described in the Blog_By_Email instructions, by default you need to manually load the wp-mail.php file in order to cause WordPress to query your secret account.

Several alternative solutions exist, using cron or WP-Cron. They’re documented on the Blog_By_Email page.

thanks again for all the help. as a new user, im still getting used to this support site and will do my best to stop posting/asking repetitive questions.

one more thing, is there anyway to stop ‘Content-Disposition: inline’ from appearing in the post, as well as ‘=’ when a line break occurs?

    thanks in advance!

jhkessel: ensure that you’re sending plaintext emails to your secret account, and not HTML.

    that must be it…thanks!

I’m about 2 hours ahead of you on the same learning curve.

If you install Postie, that will allow you to send email with formatting and images (among other things) to be posted on your blog. Be sure to read the README file when you download Postie for how to get Postie setup.
