At first, I thought I was crazy (well, maybe I am), but today, April 6.2019 I was putting in a scheduled post for May 10, 2019, and the darned thing sent out a notification. The post is in draft mode, not published. This is version Version: 1.17.0 of One Signal and version Version 5.1.1 of WordPress. The plugin worked flawlessly before this, and then it just started doing today.

One thing I did notice. The post did not have a title before WP did an auto-refresh so the post still had the id number for the permalink instead of the regular permalink mm/post-title. When I hit the schedule button, the permalink did change, but the push notification when out with the post id number instead.

What is irksome about this particular post is that I do not have a featured image for it yet since I have not actually made the food yet (it’s a recipe blog). I wanted it in my list of posts for May ready to go and just add the picture when I make the dish in April. Now, I’m kind of scared to write posts to be scheduled.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,
This is the first we’re hearing of this problem but will definitely look into it further. Thank you for bringing it up. In the meantime, we recommend configuring the plugin to not automatically send a push notification (doesn’t automatically check the box). Then, you can go back to the particular post and hit update with the checkbox checked in order to send the notification manually. This will be a temporary inconvenience while we investigate where the issue is. We would be able to better assist you if you reach out directly through our support channel at OneSignal.com.

    Hi,

    Has this issue been resolved?

My issue is with drafts. I am getting push notifications when a post is saved as a draft and the URL shows incorrect permalink. I believe this is because the correct permalink is created when the post is actually published.

When we publish a post we do not have any issue. The push is received with the correct permalink.

The point is, why would a push be sent for a post that is saved as a draft? User should be receiving the push notification only when the post is published.

We are currently following the workaround and checking the box for push only when publishing.

    TIA.

We have a similar issue: when we schedule a post the notification dose not start (as it should be). When the post is published via wp cron the notification is sent but with the wrong permalink (index.php?p=xxx). This behaviour is not the same for every scheduled post but with some of them and we don’t understand why.
We use Linux cron to call wp-cron.php every 5 minutes.

Can someone help us to solve this problem?

    Davide.

Hi, have the same problem as Davide with Onesignal Scheduled posts. Once sent out on Onesignal they don’t link to the correct permalink, instead they direct to “/?p=27343” for example. What’s going on here?

Same issue here… 30.000 users are getting push notifications BEFORE the posts are really published.

Please, could you add some custom delay on push notifications? Minimum delay would be 15-20 minuts.

    Regards

Hi, this is a question unrelated to the above but I wasn’t sure where to put it:

I have a body movement website and want to send a reminder to my clients to get up, maybe a “push” notification (or some sort of notification that will come up on the front screen) who are working on their computers.
I would like this to happen every 90 minutes from when they log on the website (so each user will may have a different time for the notification.

    Any ideas welcome.

Yes, go to other push notifications provider….
