Is it possible to use this plugin to send the title, content and image of a post to LinkedIn without sending the post link itself? I don’t want to have a link back to the single post from LinkedIn if at all possible.

    Thanks
    Meg

    Hi Meg,

Thanks for your question. It never ceases to amaze me the things people want to do haha!

Unfortunately though in this case I am pretty confident the LinkedIn API requires that 4 pieces of information be used in the share and one of these is the source URL as documented here: https://developer.linkedin.com/docs/share-on-linkedin under the submitted-url parameter.

You could try commenting out lines 500 and 612 of the main file in the plugin called wp-linkedin-auto-publish and seeing if it shares without the URL, but I doubt it would.

You can also share to LinkedIn via the ‘simple’ share method in the plugin settings, where you can create a custom message and the URL of the page doesn’t have to be mentioned via this method.

    Thanks,
