Sender's message was failed to send

Thanks in advance for any insight. We’ve successfully used Contact Form 7 + Campaign Monitor for some time now, but recently ran into the following issue after migrating our WP site from a dedicated domain to sub-directory on another domain.
When submitting the subscription form, we receive the “Sender’s message was failed to send” error. However, the submission successfully posts to Campaign Monitor – and so, in effect, we have a false negative.
The obvious concern is that this is the result of the migration, but all other aspects of the site function normally and as expected. Furthermore, it’s possible that this error was occurring before the migration since we don’t get a tremendous number of subscriptions on this form and only tested it recently as part of the post-migration QA.
Has anyone run into this scenario before? Any thoughts?
