  • Hello,

Normal behaviour is to fill in the ‘from’ message header with the email address of the form filler and ‘name’ with the name of the form filler.

I hope I am not getting too technical for you but the plugin uses the wp filter hook ‘wp_mail_from’ and ‘wp_mail_from_name’ to do this. If any other plugin you have installed is also hooked into this filter, the values can potentially be changed.

One such plugin that I know of that DOES hook into these filters is wp-mail-smtp. Do have that plugin installed or something similar?

Big thanks for the hint. Yes, I went to switch suspect plugins off and on – and BuddyPress turned out to be the culprit.

I wonder whether it is a BuddyPress bug or something that you would be able to address?

Any plugin that uses those filters should apply them, send the email, and then remove, to avoid conflicts with other plugins, as does cscf, unless there is a valid reason.

You could ask buddy press support why they are applying the filters in a blanket fashion rather than when they are needed?

    Thanks, done.

Let’s see if anyone from BuddyPress team bothers to respond.

Thanks again for a fantastic plugin!

Ok let me know if you get a response ??

A response is there, but the proposed solution doesn’t work.
