I have set in the Settings -> General Settings -> Basic Settings with the sender email, return path and reply-to emails with [email protected] However, upon re-sending the activation email, the emails are shown to be coming from [email protected]!! How is this possible? Where is this being set?

Hi, only while resending the email or generally? If you run a test from the status panel, which is the from address you can see in the delivered email?

From the Subscribers section, I click “Resend Activation”. The subscriber received the email from [email protected] If I send a test mail from the Status panel, it is also from [email protected]

Thanks Stefano. Yes. I have an smtp email info@ set up. But it should not overwrite Newsletter plugin send from address. For example, in WooCommerce the orders are sent out as [email protected] and are not affected by the smtp. Can this be fixed?

Hi, we just use the same function used by woocommerce. Or your smtp plugin add exceptions for woocommerce or the problem is somewhere else. Are you sure you’re not using our internal SMTP?

In the Newsletter plugin Settings -> SMTP -> Enable the SMTP? is set to No.

I used the plugin “WP Simple Mail Sender” which says “This is a very simple plugin to change the sender address and name when WordPress send an email.” But Woocommerce email is not affected by it. It has its own “Email sender options” under Emails tab.

Probably woocommerce filters the email sender later than the plugin you’re using.

What would be the solution for the Newsletter plugin? I think Newsletter should work the same way since it has a setting for from email, one would expect it superseded other settings.

It’s your wp simple mail sender which does not respect the “from” field filled up by newsletter. Ask the author to check the presence of that field before forcing a different form (as done by other plugins which give the option to force the from or to leave the one set externally).

Can you recommend one that will work with your plugin?
