Send only image / custom field as hashtag

    Hello,

    Thanks for the awesome plugin, specially the conditional logic system.

    I have been watching the videos and playing around with the the settings, but there are some things that I’m not being able to figure out:

    1. Besides what’s written in the message template, I want only the image to be sent. But it always sends website name,title and excerpt along with the image, like this https://prnt.sc/qus85j

    2. I saw some websites that seem to be using WP Telegram and show mockups on Telegram instead of the post’s featured image. These mockups are images that usually contain the featured image, price, store and author over a white background, and seem to be automatically generated. Any idea how one would go about achieving this?

    3. Is it possible to have a custom field displayed as a hashtag?

  • Hi,

    For 1 & 2, you can try enabling Single Message option in Post to Telegram settings.

    For 3, it requires custom code.

    1. I tried enabling single message, featured image on and off, but nothing seems to change, the image is sent with title and text. Could it be something related to my theme, Rehub?

    2. I’d just like to know if you have an ideia how these images are generated. Is it some other plugin or a customization? Here is an example of the mockups I’m talking about: https://prnt.sc/qv5d4j

    3. You mean paid customization?

    I guess what you mention is not possible in Telegram. Text will always be sent as image caption. Those white background images are webpages, not just images.

    Your answer is meant to number 2, right? Because what I’m referring in #1 is just removing the text sent with the image (marked in green https://prnt.sc/qv684f )

    That’s a link/webpage preview generated by Telegram using Open Graph tags. You can customise your og tags to change that preview.

    I’m not a developer, so I had to do some research to know what you were talking about. For what I could find, the Yoast SEO plugin that I have installed on my site is responsible for generating the link previews. I would have to mess with code to edit this then, right?

    Is there another way to send just template + image in a single message without dealing with the link preview? Here’s an example of what I’m aiming at https://prnt.sc/qvvcmt

    You can try Image Position to to After text along with Single Message option.

    I tried it, but Web Page Preview has to be active for Single Message to work, so the end result is the same.

    In that case, it will on show image in the preview.

    Well, not sure what I was doing wrong, but I tried what you said again and it worked. Thank you very much. I’ll leave an image of my settings, in case anyone else has the same issue https://prnt.sc/qw15n2
