    This problem was supposed to have been resolved and to fail silently when the site is not responding and avoid interfering and breaking operations but its once again doing the exact same thing.

    Sucuri: (1451309722) Send_log: connect() timed out!. This generally happens when the API service fails to respond in time, you currently have configured the plugin to discard the network connection after 300 seconds. Wait a few minutes until the issue is resolved by itself, or change the timeout limit from the general settings page of the plugin, the option is named “API request timeout”.

  • “Use at my own risk” is no solution for me when it comes to paying customers for my websites. But thanks for the advice! I will wait until an update solves this problem, hopefully soon… ??

    This thread seems to have gone quiet. While the frequency of the error message has reduced, I am still seeing this on lots of sites. I have the latest version on all sites. Is this still being worked on? Is there an agreed workaround? It used to “just work”. If you are still working on it, then thanks. I find this one of the more useful security plugins, however with all of the error messages popping up it does get in the way of editing for my client base.

    I am personally waiting and granting them the time they need to get it worked out and pushed out and then tested in the wild to make sure it took.

    Bombarding them with complaints while they know, have acknowledged and working on the problem would be counterproductive.

    The API service was recently migrated to a different server with better performance. We will monitor the requests from multiple locations and apply patches to the code if necessary. During the last month the average response time has been 5 secs and the maximum has been 20 secs. If someone detects timeouts with higher values let me know. For now lets consider this issue resolved.

    @yorman, great hope it works for you guys and resolves the issue but I have long ago stopped using this because the bugs and the strain on our servers, and the lack of real support, along with constant issues was unacceptable, so we have moved to a better solution that has not caused a single issue in more than a year. Some of our clients continue to use it but that’s their decision and hopefully this will make them stop complaining to us about it. But we officially no longer ship it, configure it, recommend it or set it up for anyone anymore. Best wishes and good luck.
