Send file as link, Download manager look

Great plugin.
I have been trying to find out how to send a file as a link. As admin I can upload files fine, but I would like to add a link in the users homepage where they can click the link and upload or see the file.
Also, for some reason the download manager looks different than the one in the how to videos. I am trying it out, and the file available for download, as a user, is listed halfways on the download manager box. There is only 1 file for now. The “name, date, time” is on top and the file like 1 1/2 inch below, so there is a real big space. Does not look as nice as the one in the how to video.
