Send email of post to many friends

  • I have a friend who uses blogspot for her blog. Whenever she writes a new post and publishes it, I get an email of the post and a link to her blog.
    Does WordPress have this feature and how would I set it up?
    I want be able to publish a post and have it automatically sent to all of my friends via email.

  • Sounds like spamming.

    Have you friends subscribe to your RSS feed instead. If you use FeedBurner you can have them subscribe by email. This way they have a change to opt out in case they no longer want to recieve your updates.

    I’m not sure it’s fair to call it spam. If a friend opts in to get your posts via e-mail, because it’s more convenient, that’s a good feature.

    If anyone knows of a plug-in that would do this, I’d love to have it. I have non-techie relatives that would appreciate being able to get my posts via e-mail instead of them having to navigate the ever-scary world wide web. ??
