I observed that I was receiving multiple/duplicate emails from my websites. I attempted to send myself an email from my contact page and discovered that the send button would churn and spin forever. I believe my users were clicking send multiple times because they were not getting a success message. Sure enough, when I clicked send and it pinwheeled, I click send again and instantly received a duplicate email.

Upon investigation and after turning off plugins for testing, I determined that 5.4 was to blame. So I downloaded and reverted to 5.3.2 This resolved the send button pinwheel issue. I will remain on 5.3.2 until their is a fix.

I’m getting exactly the same on both my websites. When you click the “Submit button” it just pinwheels forever without a send confirmation message. I then end up with like 10 duplicated messages in my imbox as the sender must be pressing the submit button duplicate times.

Is there a fix for this? It started happening to me a few days ago.

version 5.4 does not work with caching like WP rocket and others. The user solution currently is to roll back to 5.32
