Selling text (articles) through plug-in

  • Dear all,

    I make a living as a freelance copywriter. Disgruntled with the current state of the platforms for copywriting (Odesk, Textbroker etc), I combined with a couple of fellow writers to offer our services to clients directly.

    We mostly write webcontent, meaning website pages/articles. Most of our clients use WordPress. For them, we want them to be able to order and receive articles directly in their CMS. A payment system is not necessarily included. Is there an existing plug-in which enables this?

    So, in short:
    1. WordPress users can put in an order for an article through plug-in
    2. We receive the order (ideally a cloud storage system), collaborate/work on the article online and send the finished product back to the WordPress user. He/she now has a new page with the content in it, ideally already formatted the way they want it.

    I think it would be a great way not only for us, but for other writers (SEO, webcontent, marketing etc) to sell our services hassle-free without any uploading or downloading on the part of the client.

    I’ve moved this to “Miscellaneous” because this really isn’t a WordPress or .ORG request or feedback.

    I’m not closing this topic but… I’m tempted to. It’s an odd topic because the idea of selling content is not new but commercial idea such as this one really don’t belong in these forums. Yes, there are plugins hosted here that interface software as a service but the conversation about that plugin happened with the developers away from the forums.

    I’ll leave this topic open for now but if it gets commercial or devolves into spam then the topic may get closed.

    Thanks for the comment Jan. I understand it might be a bit of a strange request, but my point was more that I’m curious whether such a plug-in actually exists. It should definitely be possible, but I haven’t been able to find one browsing the plugin repository.

    It’s not my intention to commission anyone into building something to suit this purpose.
