Self Referring Links

I’m sure this must have come up before, and I have a sneaky suspicion I’ve seen someone solve it (but can’t find their weblog).
However, that said, does any one know what I need to do to configure my weblog so that when I click on an archive or category link and “go to it” the reference to it on the menu stops being a link.
Self referring links have always annoyed me a little and it’s one of my few design issues before crafting a style sheet to finish off my weblog.
