Self-Referrals despite using Site Kit

    Hello,

    I am using Site Kit for my Google Analytics code implementation from the start and everything had worked fine until recently.

    I started getting “Self-Referrals” notifications & there seems to be a huge chunk of traffic from referrals intermittently appearing in my google analytics. The source is coming from 9tailedkitsune.com/ – when I clicked on the referral traffic details, there was only /. I don’t know what that means.

    I also don’t know how to fix it or what could be wrong since I thought Plugin will take care of it.

    Thanks for reaching out. From checking your site I can confirm Site Kit has inserted the Google Analytics snippet on your site and all is working and appearing as expected. While we’re limited to Site Kit support queries here in the support forums you can use the the Google Analytics Help Center for queries regarding normal or expected referral behavior with referral traffic, where the product experts may be able to point you in the right direction.

    I also don’t know how to fix it or what could be wrong since I thought Plugin will take care of it.

    Site Kit only inserts a standard Google Analytics snippet on users websites, and doesn’t impact and hyperlinks on the connected site, which would be typically associated with any referral traffic. You’ll find more on this below:
