We are self hosting our website, so we downloaded wordpress from www.remarpro.com, but we would like some form of hirable support. WordPress.com offers exactly what we are looking for in support, live chat, 24/7 help, and the ability to attend live courses. My question is can we get business level support from wordpress.com while still self hosting our own website? Can someone point me in the right direction to get the answer I need?

You’ll have to ask wp.com that but I’m 90% sure that the answer will be no. Please try https://jobs.wordpress.net/ or https://jetpack.pro/ and do not accept any hire offers posted to these forums.

    I don’t think so.
.COM and .ORG are two different companies.

There are some companies online which offer wordpress support but you have to pay for it (ofc).

In any case to use wordpress is very easy and with a few hours you’ll be able to create a cool website. If you need an e-commerce but you’ve no experience I suggest you to ask directly a web designer.

Before paying someone to do what you can do as well: the most of hosting providers have a live chat or anyway a fast ticket support, so if you have any dubt on the cPanel/database check their knowledgebase or contact their support.
If you use famouse plugins, some have their own forum/support and you can even ask on their forum section here on www.remarpro.com.
Almost every premium theme I know has the support included.
If you use a visual-builder instead of just the back-end composer it will be easier e more funny to build the website.

Can you better specify the kind of site you want to build and the theme you have in mind please?

The website is for a local community college and is already live, so everything is in house. We just need out of house support for wordpress, our website crashed earlier this week and the boss man wants some form of support to rely on in case it happens again. The main reason i referred to wordpress.com support is the live classes they offer. I can’t seem to find any decent up-to-date video courses for wordpress. Any recommendations to any good classes offered?

I’m sorry for my questions but what do you mean with “crashed”?
For example if it has been caused by plugins you should try to find out the one which breaks your site and replace it with a working one (you can ask here or to your theme author if you don’t know which one to choose).

I figured out which plugin it was.

I doubt whether taking WordPress courses (or utilizing wordpress.com support) would help much with things like debugging website crashes. That’s the realm of server administration. Who manages the server that hosts your website? I’d start by talking to that person. They should be able to point you in the right direction to get the support you want/need.

Have you checked what it would cost to host your site with a company that provides the support you want/need? You may find that the hosting cost is less than paying for server administration.

I will look into migrating our hosting to wordpress.com for the added support. Thank you everybody who helped answer my questions! Much appreciated
