• When I go to add a video link where the video is hosted on my own webhost, for some reason mediapress doesn’t recognize the mp4 as a video. How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Thank you for using the plugin.

Is the video playable on web? MediaPress will only show players for the web playable media(h.264 encoded).

Can you try the url with core WordPress video shortcode and let me know if it is playable?

    Regards

Yes I can play the video using the standard wp video shortcode. I can do that in blog articles and learnpress article. Mediapress regularly tells me the format is invalid although it is an mp4. I am also really frustrated that no solution I’ve tried will both show and play self-hosted videos inside buddypress. Not even the WP video shortcode will display in buddypress activity feeds. You have to click the blank activity entry’s timestamp to see the video and play it inside buddypress. I was really hoping mediapress might be the answer.
