Self hosted and Askimet plug in

  • I finally got set up on this forum to ask about getting the api code for akismet. I helped others make WordPress.com sites using my personal email. I also host my own WP using my business email but that email seems to be in the WP system and I cannot register with it again. I have totally lost any WP.com registration info associated with my self hosted version. I do not want the akismet to be covering the blog sites I helped set up on WP.com. I want it for my self hosted site. Is this making any sense? Perhaps if there is a folder that contains the code I need? Obviously I am not all that Wp saavy (I just get by) and feeling very frustrated right now after 2 hours of searching help posts and getting this forum set up. Please advise.   • I do not want the akismet to be covering the blog sites I helped set up on WP.com. I want it for my self hosted site.

    I know you can use your existing key for a self-hosted site, but I do not know whether you can get it removed from others. Here is Akismet:

    Here is where you can get your key re-sent if you do not still have it somewhere:

    Also, my Akismet credentials just logged me in at wordpress.com and re-directed me to Akismet. So one way or another, you should be able to get there and ask your questions.
