    Hi,

I don’t know much about a code, so could you tell me which selectors do what?

Basically, I have no idea what I need to put in the selectors box, to make the comment bubbles appear with each paragraph.

(perhaps this would be something to add to F.A.Q – for other non-coders?)

    Hi Alex,

    thanks for your feedback!

You can use the example from below the settings box:
    h1, .single-post p, span, blockquote
    or simply try
    p, span, blockquote

Or send me your website URL and I’ll have a quick look.

    Regards,
    Kevin

Hi, I’m having trouble formatting my comments bubbles and getting them to appear where I want them. I saw your advice above and tried it, but I’m having issues with bubbles appearing where I don’t want them. I have a bunch of them clustered around my widgets right now, and I would like to block them entirely from pages like my email contact form page. My website is wanttowrite.com if you want to look and see what it’s doing. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me!

    Hi jschrau,
    try something like this:
    .category #primary p

    Regards,
    Kevin

That seems to have worked perfectly! Thanks so much!

I know you think your instructions make sense but to a non-coder, they do not. I have tried being literal and typing the things you suggested into the selector. Result? Nothing. My latest attempt was just to type h2 in the selector box because I would like it beside every h2 headline if comments are allowed on the page. Still nothing. Could you please be a bit clearer about what goes on? Do I need to add HTML coding to the page itself? Thank you in advance for your help.

@eosdev, you mustn’t change any coding from your theme.
“h2” doesn’t make sense in your case, because your site does not use headlines with <h2> tags, I think. Try h1 instead, or simply p to add inline comments to any paragraph.

    Does this work?

    Kevin

Thank you for your very prompt feedback!

I do use the h2 tag on this page:
    https://cyndikirkpatrick.com/foolswalk/thefool/

And plan to have about thirty pages in the same format. The h2 line is the poem title on the right. So, as I understand it, I should be seeing a comment bubble to the right of it but I don’t.

    Hi,

I can see a “+” when I hover the heading, look at this screenshot: https://ssl-account.com/cloud.kevinw.de/public.php?service=files&t=575f148a5a440ace85c80ef3b47a3c37
That’s it. The rest is a question of styling.

    Regards,
    Kevin

AH!! So it only shows up on mouseover and I need to style it to be much more prominent. But it is there. Thanks you so much. I would have looked forever and not seen it on my screen even when it was on.

    Thanks again!
