Selecting multiple blocks freezes page

    Hi– when I try to select multiple blocks in the editor, the whole page hangs and stays frozen until I get the “the page is not responding” notice.

    The steps:

    – open a page in the editor
    – open the List view to display the outline of all the blocks
    – click one block
    – shift-click on the next block down to try to select a second block
    – page freezes

    First I reverted the theme, and the problem persisted.

    Then I deactivated Spectra, and the problem went away. I was able to go into the page, select all of the blocks (many now showing as “unsupported” since they’re Spectra blocks), and then paste them into a new page. After that I reactivated Spectra.

    I’m using the latest version of the plugin, 2.3.5. I rely heavily on the ability to move blocks between pages. Please advise, thank you.

    Please try debugging the issue as follows:

    Please be sure to regenerate the assets. We do this automatically after the plugin is updated, but just to be sure, go to “Spectra > Settings > Asset Generation > Regenerate Assets” and press the button.

    Also, empty cache and hard reload while on the editor screen. Here’s how: https://share.bsf.io/2NumNvZ2.

    Hi, thanks for the quick response.

    I tried your steps one at a time. Regenerating the assets alone didn’t do it, but once I added the Clear cache & hard reload, it started working again.

    So this problem is back. This time, on a different site. I tried doing all of the same things:

    • updated Spectra to the newest version
    • regenerated assets
    • cleared the server cache
    • did a clear cache & reload on the editor page

    But this time it didn’t fix the problem. Every time I select multiple container blocks, the page hangs so completely that I can’t even navigate away from it until the browser times out. I can select one container at a time (even if it contains other containers), and I can select multiple blocks that aren’t containers, but I cannot select two or more container at the same level of hierarchy. It also seems to be page-specific, broken on one page and working on another. I’ve hard-refreshed the broken page numerous times, to no avail.

    What else can I try?
