Selected single images to lightbox?

Hi all,

I’ve read a few ways to do this but none of them work for me.

I am using Visual Composer and have four single images next to each other. When you click on an image, I want it to open in a lightbox, and to be able to navigate through the four images. There are other images on the same page that I would like the same functionality with so they have to be able to be grouped.

I’m trying to avoid using a ‘gallery’ for load time and also I’m not sure how a gallery would display as single images.

Any ideas would be great,
