Selectable Recipient with Pipes – multiple values gives error in

Defining a target with mutliple email recipients gives a configuration error:
[select* Category
“Join Our Group|jim@example.net”
“Request Information|jim@example.net”
“Web site issue|michael@mail.isp”
“Something else|jim@example.net michael@mail.isp” ]Note the last target is supposed to go to two recipients.
Did this use to work? What facility is there from within the form to send email to multiple people at one time?
