Selectable Purpose

I’m aiming to build a Donate button with a drop down menu, but where the drop down is a selection of different purposes (or categories) that the donor can give towards, with an unspecified amount. The associated PayPal account would receive a donation in the amount of the donors choosing, and towards one of six (in our case) purposes. Or maybe instead of “purpose”, it could be in the form of a note, directing where the funds go.

Is this a possibility? I tried myself to make the “item-name” to echo whatever was selected in the drop down menu, but I couldn’t get it to function.
