• When working with the Gutenberg editor trying to select a parent page does not give me the complete list or not even filters the list correctly to the parent page I need to select, I know there is other post about this but I was not able to find any solution yet, since the site I am working on has over 700 pages and thousands of posts.

Can any one pin point me to any solution for this besides changing to the classic editor, its amazing this still is broken.

At the same time was testing the Page list block and it issue to get parent page is even worse, list does not filter anything at all.

Bumping this issue up since it’s been so long and no fix yet.

  • Check to ensure you have updated to WordPress 6.2. If you use the Gutenberg plugin, also update that to the latest version. The issue you’re referring to, which impacted sites with large numbers of pages/categories/etc., has been resolved in most cases.

There are limits to how many results will appear in the Parent Page selector, but using the autocomplete field to search should yield the result you’re looking for.

In case that doesn’t help, the old workaround was to use the Quick Edit option on the Pages Screen to set the page parent.
