• I tried to set up version 7 and followed the instructions to register the Blog. the blag claims to be registered but the system never actually propogated the page upon completing the registration process. It was just blank. When I tried to sign in it claims that my e-mail address is not recognized. WHat might I be doing wrong? Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.

  • Typically, a blank screen during install means you didn’t get a complete and intact set of WordPress files uploaded to your host. I’d consider downloading a fresh copy of WordPress from the Download tab at the top of this page, then use something like 7-Zip to extract the files. Then reupload the files to your host. Review Uploading WordPress to a remote host and make sure you are using ASCII transfer mode in your FTP client.

As for the login problems, since this is a new installation, you could consider DROPping the Database Tables, and then complete Step 5 of the Installation process.

I tried your suggestions but I am afraid that my results were the same. It seems to register but the last page during the attempt comes up showing a blank screen with the exception of the WordPress logo.

I can see the database structure lands in my host but as for queuing me
futher post registration I am still a little lost here. Perhaps I am missing the point of some of the instructions. I will try toresearch this further in the docs on this site but if you have additional ideas of what might be going wrong I would love to hear them.

    Thanks,

    John
