• Hi

We use several forms for e.g. evant registration. We copy “old” event-forms to create new ones. But since the last update it seems the copy doesnt work anymore ??
The option to copy a form is still there but it doesnt copy

    Is this a known bug?

  • no it works (at least for me), it may be wordpress related.

When you hover with cursor the link to duplicate the contact form (in the contact form admin section) the url looks fine?

the hover-path already has the same ID:

    Copy form
Copied form – with same ID

ID even doesnt change after saving.

but this is correct! you are sending a request for “post=123&action=copy”, wpcf7 takes care of creating a new custom post with the copy of the post passed.

A new post will be created with id 0 and WordPress is supposed to create a new id for it. if not, as far as i can understand, it’s related to WordPress. you are able to create a new post in wordpress?

eh well no this is not correct. if i copy a post, the new post will gets his own (new) IP. Thats what i also expect for a copied form (and this was working before) …
coping posts (with YOAST Duplicate Post plugin) works fine. (normaly you cant duplicate posts by WP itself)

Yes of course what you say is correct.
But remind the form is a custom post type and the post request simply stand for “copy the form with id 123”, the id of the new post will be generated by WordPress. There is nothing wrong with that!

Are you able to create a new post and save it? because, as I said, I think the problem lies in WordPress.
