• I just installed it, haven’t even tested it yet at all, but it’s asking for a 5 star rating, which is bull.

    Hi Donkeyrock,

Ok, then don’t give it any rating (you don’t have to).

After trying it – do you like it?

    socialdude,

I’ll have to work with it for a while to see , but if there’s a way to delay asking for a rating by a couple days, that would be good.

It’s good enough to not be tossed out 5 minutes after installing it, which happened to 3 other sharing plugins I tried, so it’s got that going for it, which is nice.

Yes, actually you raise a valid point. What I’d be interested to know: did you see the box asking you to review it right after installation? Usually it should only come 30 days after you installed it.

Or are you talking about the box which comes after you de-selected the email icon? The email icon is a core part of it, so if users don’t want to use it it’s fine, but at that point we’d like to ask them to give us a (nice) review. I agree it’s a bit early in the process, however we were thinking “if the user doesn’t use the email icon, at least we may get a nice review”…

It was after deselecting the email icon. My client doesn’t want or need the RSS or email components to be active.

I don’t understand why unselecting the email icon means you may not get a nice review, so you insert a popup. The logic escapes me.

The issue is that if we don’t ask users, they will not review it. People are lazy.

In that pop-up, we also give the option to just not give it any rating, so nobody’s forced to review it.
