Seeking Constructive Criticism

I started blogging on WordPress back in March and have picked up just enough knowledge on my own to be dangerous. My site is based on the Blueprint theme, but there isn’t much of the original left beyond the typography. I realize that the current header image might be a little hard on the eyes, but I intend to swap it out on a regular basis just to keep things interesting. I’m looking for honest appraisals of the overall site, keeping in mind that I am a writer and not a designer. If anyone has any suggestions for increasing readership, I’m all ears. Thanks!
