Hi, the warning message “Security update required for your Stripe extension” keep showing on my website backend.

I have updated your plugin to the latest version, I’ve re-autenticated the connection with Stripe and I’ve enabled the new chckout. What else I should do to hide the warning?

    Thanks!

    Hi @pizzapie79 ,

I understand seeing that warning message after taking the right steps can be concerning. It seems like your site might be caching the old status. Could you try clearing your site’s cache?

If the message still appears, could you deactivate and reactivate the Stripe plugin? That oftentimes refreshes the system status.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

Just a quick info: if I deactive and reactivate the Stripe plugin will be necessary to re-autenticate the connection with Stripe?

    Thanks ??

    Hi @pizzapie79 ,

if I deactive and reactivate the Stripe plugin will be necessary to re-autenticate the connection with Stripe?

This is a good question! No, typically when you deactivate and reactivate the Stripe plugin, your settings are saved, so you shouldn’t need to re-authenticate the connection with Stripe.

Just to be safe, make sure to have your API keys handy in case you need to input them again, but this is rarely required.

If you continue to see the message after this step, do get back to us so we can dig deeper.

I’m having this same issue – even deactivating the plugin and following all the steps listed on the WooCommerce Guide isn’t working!

Hi, it’s me again. I’ve made a copy of my website so I can test and make changes more safely. Now:

It seems like your site might be caching the old status. Could you try clearing your site’s cache?
    >> I don’t have any cache plugin enabled on the copy of my website.

If the message still appears, could you deactivate and reactivate the Stripe plugin? That oftentimes refreshes the system status.
    >> I’ve tried it, but nothing changes.

So, do you have any other suggestion? Maybe is there some issue with my hosting configuration? Or some conflicts with other plugin? Or do I need to update also WooCommerce to the latest version?

    Thanks in advance

Thank you for sharing further updates on this @pizzapie79,

Just so that we are on the same page, are all your plugins up-to-date, including the database? If they aren’t, could you please head over to update them and then check if the issue persists.

Should it persist, as a workaround, I recommend manually making the changes from your database. You can navigate to the?wp_wc_admin_notes?table in your database and locate the relevant notice by searching for a portion of the message. Once found, you can change its status to “actioned.”

    I hope this helps.

Hi, today I’ve updated everything to the latest version (plugin, core, ecc.), then I’ve disabled and then enabled again the Stripe plugin… but nothing changes, the message was still visibile.

So, I changed the status from database as you suggested, and now I don’t see message anymore ??

Thank you very much, now it’s solved.

    Hi,

I’m glad to hear that updating the status in the database resolved the issue.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

    Best regards,

    R
