Hello! I’m currently working on my new website which isn’t yet published. I noted that obviosly no security option is working for me. I don’t have activate and won’t use “Askimet” and “Stop Forum Spam”. The “Really simple CAPTCHA” plugin isn’t installed yet as I want to try the security question option first but it seems that it will also not shown in my guestbook (all other security options has been activated). If I enter and save for example “12 + Sieben=” as security question and “19” as answer it will be not shown for guests. Instead the entry will be accepted automatically. What’s going wrong there? Does this feature also need the CAPTCHA-Plugin?

Besides adding a question and answer, you also need to enable it on the Form-tab.
    Is it enabled there?

BTW, the honeypot and other transparent anti-spam options are now quite good. You could fisrt see if that is enough for your needs.

Thanks for the fast answer! It seems that I really forgot to activate the individual SPAM option which didn’t have any effect before entering my own question (the greyed example question didn’t work). It also seems that any changes will not shown or much later on browsers if you’re not logged in. I estimate that it has something to do with “WP Optimize” and the caching options as other plugins like “The Events Calendar” show the very same effect, even when changing something on the page.

Yes, caching can play a role.
You could maybe delete the cache, or otherwise update the page for the guestbook so the cache gets refreshed.
