Security Ninja causes wp_die since the new update on “wp-admin/includes/menu.php:380”.

    Hello @comicschau

I am sorry to hear that – We have tested with fresh installs and updates and have not encountered an error yet. Can you tell us more details from the error message you saw? Was it a manual update or via a management system?

    Hello @comicschau

We just pushed out 5.211.1 with a hotfix – please check that version out?

No, the update for the free version did not bring any improvement. My wp-admin is locked. It’s not the first untested update…

@timse201 You can try to delete the plugin via web ftp from your plugins list. That’s the only way if you don’t have an option to access via Jetpack for example. It will lock the entire admin area and it is not possible to update the plugin from there again.

I will not use Security Ninja again. If this should protect a site, but locks it without any chance other as by luck to regain access, I’m finally not into it anymore.

    Hi everyone,

First, I want to sincerely apologize for the issues you’ve encountered with the recent update. I completely understand how disruptive it can be when a security plugin causes problems with accessing your site.

We’ve been monitoring the feedback closely and quickly pushed out a hotfix in version 5.211.1, which addressed several of the reported issues. In addition, we’ve just released version 5.212 today, which includes further stability improvements, including fixes related to 2FA and MainWP.

@johannes Jülg, I’m sorry to hear that the hotfix didn’t resolve the problem for you. We’re here to help, and any additional details you can provide (error logs, hosting setup, etc.) will help us pinpoint the root cause. We’re actively working on ensuring all users can smoothly update without issues.

@bastbra, I completely understand your frustration, and it’s not the experience we aim for. Security Ninja is designed to protect your site, not cause disruptions. I’d love the chance to help get things back on track if you’re open to it. We truly appreciate your feedback—it helps us make things right.

On a positive note, we are expanding the team, and a new member is joining next week to help us further improve the product. This will help us minimize the chances of problematic updates like this in the future by strengthening our testing process.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
