• I’m baffled. My web host is baffled. My ISP is baffled. MY IT husband is baffled. Looking for any help here at all.

Yesterday, I used FileZilla to FTP into my site and delete a plugin file that, for some reason, was not removed from my site when I deleted it from the dashboard. (And it was causing performance issues).

Just after that, I was able to see the front-end of my site (https://allthingsfadra) but receive the dreaded error 500 when trying to access the Admin dashboard.

    Things to know:
    – This only occurs when using the network in my house (wifi)
    – It is accessible by anyone (including my web host) NOT on my wifi
    – I can access it from my phone when I’m using cellular

Host says it’s not a security issue on his end. If it was it would block me from the entire site, not just the admin page. And the block would have expired by now.

Xfinity (my network) says they don’t see any security blocks or issues on their end and they’re baffled as well that it’s just the admin page and not the whole site. Regardless, I did fill out a form for them to remove any possible security blocks *just in case*

I’m at a complete loss and so is everyone I’ve roped into this. Any random suggestions will be considered!

what plugins do you have installed? One of them may be blocking you. look in wp-content/plugins.

I have quite a few plugins installed but if that were the case, I would think it would block ANYONE from accessing my site. I can’t even get to the login screen.

My host did also mention he tried disabling the theme and the plugins just in case that was it and it didn’t fix anything.

If it’s not a plugin *and* it’s not in .htaccess, then it’s your host doing the blocking. Try disabling ALL plugins yourself; don’t count on your host.

We did that and it made no difference. The admin blocking is only for any devices on my network. I can’t even get to the login screen. Anyone outside of my network can see the login screen just fine.

WordPress itself blocks nothing. It has to be your web server or a plugin. IN this case, your site connects through Cloudflare, so it’s most likely Cloudflare that’s blocking you.

I’m working more with my host. We’ve circumvented Cloudflare and in troubleshooting the plugins, it appears that something is corrupt.

I’ve been able to temporarily regain access through some trial and error with plugins. We don’t know the exact culprit but plan to remove all and reinstall since there is definitely some massive corruption.

It’s just bizarre that it would only block me or any devices on my network.

Anyway, I think we’re closer to a permanent fix.
